The following are the installation steps for installing the device Agent:
- Open the command prompt and enter the location of the downloaded agent.
- Type CIDeviceWinAgent.msi and press Enter.
- The Cross Identity CI Device Windows Agent Setup Wizard is displayed.
- Click Next. The Select Installer Folder dialog box appears.
- Install the agent in the selected folder location that is <C:/> and click Next. The Confirm Installation dialog box appears.
- Click Next and wait for the installation to complete.
- Click Next. The Installation Complete dialog box appears.
- Click Close to exit the installer. The required files are installed in the C:/ location.
- Launch the CI application and enter the username and password.
- Click Open URL:cid Protocol to run the cid.exe file installed at the <C:/> location.
Enabling or Disabling Logs for Device Whitelisting Agent
To enable or disable logs for a device whitelisting agent:
Information:
By default, logs are disabled for the Cross Identity Agent.
- In the Registry Editor, right-click and create the [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cross Identity\Logging] registry key.
- Create DeviceAgentLogEnabled String Value name.
- Set the value as true to enable and false to disable the logs.
- By default, logs are created in the <C:\CID\DeviceAgentLogs.txt> path, and to change the path, another registry String Value name must be created in the Registry Editor as DeviceAgentLogPath, and the required path must be provided.
