Device Agent - Installation

The following are the installation steps for installing the device Agent:

  1. Open the command prompt and enter the location of the downloaded agent.

  1. Type CIDeviceWinAgent.msi and press Enter.
  2. The Cross Identity CI Device Windows Agent Setup Wizard is displayed. 

  1. Click Next. The Select Installer Folder dialog box appears.

  1. Install the agent in the selected folder location that is <C:/> and click Next. The Confirm Installation dialog box appears.

  1. Click Next and wait for the installation to complete.

  1. Click Next. The Installation Complete dialog box appears.

  1. Click Close to exit the installer. The required files are installed in the C:/ location.

  1. Launch the CI application and enter the username and password.

  1. Click Open URL:cid Protocol to run the cid.exe file installed at the <C:/> location.

Enabling or Disabling Logs for Device Whitelisting Agent

To enable or disable logs for a device whitelisting agent:

Information:
By default, logs are disabled for the Cross Identity Agent.


  1. In the Registry Editor, right-click and create the [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cross Identity\Logging] registry key.
  2. Create DeviceAgentLogEnabled String Value name.
  3. Set the value as true to enable and false to disable the logs.
  4. By default, logs are created in the <C:\CID\DeviceAgentLogs.txt> path, and to change the path, another registry String Value name must be created in the Registry Editor as DeviceAgentLogPath, and the required path must be provided.
