Article summary

Note:

If a user locks their account and forgets their password simultaneously, you don't need to perform separate operations. Simply resetting the password will automatically unlock the account.

To reset the password:

  1. Enter the username and click Sign In.

  2. On this page, click Forgot Password on the sign-in screen.

  3. Select I want to reset my password.

  4. The username field will be pre-populated and click Proceed.

Information:

When authentication is set to AD, the password will be reset directly in AD, not CI. A  "password is reset" successful response is received from AD, and the password history in CI will be updated.
Whenever the user resets the password in Cross Identity, the new password syncs with all the user's owned IGA accounts.

  1.  On the MFAscreen, choose a validation option from:

    • SMS OTP: You will receive an OTP on your registered phone number and then you are required to enter the OTP on the next screen to authenticate.

    • Email OTP: You will receive an OTP on your registered email ID. To authenticate, you must access your email to copy the OTP and paste it on the next screen.

    • Security Questions: You'll be asked to respond to the security questions you've previously set up.

    • Passwordless Authentication: You will get a notification on your registered mobile device to approve.

    • Soft Token: It validates your account with an OTP from the Authenticator app downloaded to your mobile phone. For more details, click Soft Token.

  2. Click Proceed.

  3. Enter your response based on the option chosen.

  4. Enter the new password and then re-enter the password to confirm.

  5. Click Proceed. A confirmation message is displayed.
